- This year’s Bluewater Fling is bigger and better than ever, celebrating 100 years of community service. The Mackay and District Pipe Band’s 10th annual Fling promises to be a fantastic day of family entertainment. 100 pipers and drummers from around Queensland will march across the Forgan Bridge including special guests the Queensland Police Pipes and Drums

Venue: Bluewater Quay
Set on the banks of the beautiful blue Pioneer River, entertainment will continue on the River Stage until dusk when the event will transform into the Fling Afterparty Ceilidh finishing with a spectacular fireworks display. Visitors can bring a picnic blanket or fold up chair and enjoy Scottish inspired crafted brews and food from Red Dog Brewery on the Riverfront.
