The Festival Venue
The Main Event is staged at Mackay's Bluewater Quay.
The Bluewater Quay provides an accessible and attractive lifestyle facility for residents and tourists to enjoy.
Affectionately called Mackay’s ‘town square on the river’ by residents, the Bluewater Quay extends almost 250 metres and was built around the historic Leichardt Tree (part of the Nauclea orientalis), a common meeting point for new migrants to Mackay that arrived at the old Port district along River Street.
Festival Location
The Bluewater Quay is located in the heart of the city centre, along the banks of the Pioneer River. There is plentiful and free parking through the city centre, most within easy walking distance of the festival.
